Canada finally starts inviting skilled overseas immigrants since 2020
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its first draw of overseas applicants (Federal Skilled Worker Program) since 2020. IRCC invited 1500 top applicants under Express Entry to apply for permanent residence.
The cut-off for the draw was quite high at a Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) of 557. That was because it included Canadian Experience Class (CEC) as well as Provincial Nominee Candidates (PNP) candidates. CEC is a key pathway to permanent residency for those who have a year or more of work experience in Canada.
Those candidates who are selected today will get an Invitation To Apply (ITA) in order to submit their PR application. This draw for overseas has started after a long time since 2020 thus paving the way for skilled workers to immigrate to Canada.
